The targeted mystery shop - Pt. 2
So you’ve made at least three good attempts to reach your target and can’t. So what do you do now? You can contact your scheduler for hints, but first read your instructions. There might be a guideline already in place for you to use. Some companies state that if you have made three good attempts you can ask for the consultant by name. If they ask how you got their name create a fictional friend and say they referred you and continue with your shop. If there are no suggestions provided for you in your instructions contact your scheduler. By this point depending on the due date for your shop you might also need an extension for your assignment.
Scheduler’s do understand the difficulty in reaching some of the targets. If you need to get an extension on your due date due to not being able to reach your target ask for one. If you accept a targeted shop start trying to reach your target right away. Do not wait until the last day of the assignment to start making your attempt because it might take a few days.
Depending on the company you are doing the targeted shop for you might be provided with the consultant’s schedule so that you can narrow down your calling times. Then again you may not.
Targeted shops can be easy or your worst nightmare. Just be aware of the difficulties before you accept one. Make sure you have the time available to spend trying to reach your target and don’t forget to use the ‘call block’ feature so that your phone number is not displayed every time you call. Dial *67 before dialing the number and it will block caller ID. Some numbers are set up not to accept calls from blocked numbers however. It is rare but it happens.
