What to do when a mystery shop goes to hell! Pt. 2

I cannot stress this one little point enough - contact your scheduler. If there is no email address listed for a specific scheduler for you contact the mystery shopping company that you are contracting for at the time. Be sure to reference the specific assignment that you are having problems with. Some companies have 1-800 numbers that you can call to contact them directly. Be cautious here - if there is a specific contact person listed for your assignment contact them FIRST!

Not so long ago I was supposed to call a location and ask for general information. The associate was supposed to invite me in to view the facility firsthand. They didn’t. So I emailed the scheduler. It took two days to get a response, and the assignment was now past due, but I did what I was supposed to do. It specifically stated in my instructions that I was NOT supposed to ask for a tour and contact my scheduler if this occurred. Scheduler’s have lives too and they might be having a ’sick child’ emergency. If you have covered your butt by sending in that email don’t worry about it. When I did hear back from the scheduler I got a new due date with some new instructions and will be performing this assignment again soon.
