Sunday’s Shop Log Vol. 4

So where was the mystery shopper this week? Trying to get rid of a butt load of pizza as I OD’d on pizza jobs again. They’re just so plentiful - no matter what out of the way location you get another assignment for you can always pick up a pizza or two and make the trip even more worthwhile.

I actually didn’t have many assignments to do this week. The end of the year is a generally slow time for mystery shopping as companies offer their bonuses early to get all of the assignments completed by the holidays. Some of the shopping companies even closed down this week apart from a nominal staff to deal with emergencies. It was a good time to start booking assignments for the next month as some of my favorites posted their assignments this week. My actual goal for the New Year is to earn $500 a month in shopping fees. So far I have close to $200 booked and the assignments are all due by the 8th of January so I’m hopeful it’s a good way to see me to my goal. Particularly as the day job is threatening to cut everyone’s hours next week due to lack of sales I might just be doing more mystery shopping in the future.

As I have several announced audit type shops to do in the upcoming week that will require some good pictures I decided to upgrade my digital camera. My new model is a shiny little Casio Exilim that just happens to be pink. I would call it more of a rose actually - it’s not an obnoxious pink by any means. Typically me, as soon as I got it home I started charging the battery and headed upstairs to occupy myself while it charged making sure I got a good deal. Turns out this little camera has had good reviews and the price I paid is about $40 cheaper than I could find for a new one on the web so I don’t feel I did so badly. :) Of course it’s not the camera I had my lustful eye on, but the budget didn’t allow for that. So far I’m quite satisfied with this one despite its pinkness. ;) I actually get all of my electrical equipment at this particular store due to its liberal return policy. You get to play with everything for up to a week and if you don’t like it you take it back and get cash no questions asked.
