Sunday’s shop log Vol. 1

Where was the mystery shopper this week? Everywhere and beyond. This was a very busy week for mystery shopping as scheduler’s are all trying to get their client reports edited and to them before the holidays start. I took on and completed a bunch of assignments in addition to the day job so this one might be a bit short as my fingers are kinda pooped out.

So how did the mystery shopper spend the week? Mostly hitting the malls, I had several jobs all lumped together at this mall or that. One mall was a bit out of the way, but I took the assignment because I really love chocolate and it was for a candy store. :) Then, professional that I am, I went searching to see if there were any other jobs in that mall. There were so that made the trip more worthwhile. As fortune would have it I then received an email from a scheduler asking me to cover a shop she couldn’t seem to get anyone else to do. I checked the location and it turns out it was on my way home from the mall. I still accepted her offer to reimburse my mileage though. I filled in the rest of the route home by finding yet another shop convenient to the day’s travel so in the end I ended up with a nice little route of shopping route for the day. The end result? Shop fees = $64, Reimbursements for purchases = $10, and getting the shops completed took about six hours. All in a day’s work plus I had some candy to enjoy while writing the reports and I have a little chew bone, pet store shop, which I will be gifting to a furry friend. Have I mentioned before how much I like the side benefits of shopping?

It was also a good week to pick up some phone shops which are theoretically easy, but I seem to have a harder time doing them than live shops. Phone shops generally don’t pay as much, but you don’t even have to change out of your PJ’s to do them. I think my problem stems from the fact that I know I’m being recorded and I’m a bit terrified of saying the wrong thing.

I also came to the decision that I will be looking to purchase some form of in car navigation device shortly as the directions I had sent me in the wrong direction twice this week. There is an electronic store in the process of closing here shortly. Since I have a shop on the same street next week I think I’ll stop in and see what the sales are like. :D
